Ho Technical University (HTU) is a public tertiary institution in the capital city of the Volta Region of Ghana, Ho, with a mandate to train highly competent human resources to the highest level possible through career-focused education, skills training and research, in partnership with stakeholders. The University has gained global recognition in this regard through her ability to strategically align quality research, teaching and support services and funded projects in the fields of Engineering, Science and Technology, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Applied Arts and related disciplines to current markets/job demands through diploma, higher national diploma, degree and master programs.
The University has, over the years, made tremendous contributions to national and international development via its numerous funded projects, apprenticeship programmes, career-focused education, hands-on/practical skills training and research.
HTU has established a number of collaborative projects and partnership with organizations and other similarly aligned universities across Europe, the United States and Africa. Some selected funded projects the University has, over the years, won and undertaken are as follows:

The University has so far won two projects funded by Skills Development Funds (SDF). These projects are:
The GTVP is a project under Ghanaian-German Financial Cooperation, co-financed by BMZ through KfW and the Government of Ghana. The project is implemented by the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET), supported by PLANCO, an international consulting firm. The project is an initiative of the Government of Ghana aimed at improving access of Master Craft Persons, workers and their apprentices to formal training in their trade area leading to the award of National Proficiency Certificate.
The project partners include the Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland, JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Ho Municipal Assembly and VolCare Foundation. The objectives of the project is empowering public authorities and institutions as well as mobilising the urban townships and rural communities for achievement of total sanitation in Ho Municipal Assembly and Volta Region by 2030.
This is an EU funded project in partnership with Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The project support staff and students mobility for a period of 36 months.
The is a GIZ funded project in the area of renewable energy dubbed the “Green People’s Energy Project” with a prime focus on capacity development in Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS).
This funded project is from the Finish Government to construct Urine-Diversion Dry Toilet (UDDT) and research into organic farming techniques in partnership with the Ho Municipal Assembly.
JOSPONG Environmental Sanitation Research funded project uses human urine N-enriched Biochar to improve on compost quality leading to a practical and sustainable environmental sanitation research solutions.
